Leave it to Edison Farrow to find an overlooked gem in the sandbox we call South Beach.  Up on 23rd Street, there was once a gay club called the Cave, which later became the well-loved Groovejet, before it was re-christened Rain—and which had fallen off the nightlife radar for the past couple of years.  Until Friday night, that is—when Edison brought his one-time event Innov8 to the tropical chic three-room complex.  With its open-air lounge surrounded by palms, their fronds gently waving in the balmy night, and with Daisy D in the booth (and Britney onstage!!), Innov8 @ Rain provided a perfect Friday night counterpoint to the same-old same-old Lincoln Road shenanigans—because it’s always nice to kick up a little sand in a new box.
