WHOA! Just when you
might’ve thought South Beach needed another party as much as Amanda
Lepore needs another implant, along comes Dustin Reffca’s new
Thursday night bombshell HOT MESS
to blow open the summer season—and prove yet again that MORE is
ALWAYS better. Or as Madonna’s been saying of late, it’s
going to be a STICKY SWEET
summer—every Thursday night at B.E.D, all summer long.
Because as last night’s Grand Opening of HOT MESS proved yet
again—South Beach boyz love an opening… (Ba-da-BUM!)—and of course,
they’ll show up for the opening of an envelope—but with the HOT MESS
formula promising cheap drinks and fashion, who could resist? And
with a host list reading like a Nightlife Who’s Who, and with the indomitable Alan T. parting the velvet ropes, it was hardly a
surprise to walk into a henhouse of hotties, hustlers, and hos—all
getting down with carefree abandon to DJ Shannon’s mash-up of
disco queen music. Calling all divas to the pole—and boyz
romping on the beds like a Bruce Weber “Boys Gone Wild” shoot. There
was that sexy quartet of pulchritude known as the Penny Back Boys,
bouncing around like wet puppies—and that flaneur Thomas Barker werking it out on the box. And there was a giddy DJ Roxx with a
gleeful Danny Tenaglia. And Pussila and Geraldine, those Girlie
Brunch girls, getting nasty, being tasty—and
everyone’s favorite flaming flamboyant Flavio. And patrolling it
all like Napoleon on his Egyptian conquest was a rightfully proud
Dustin Reffca. And best of all—there were so many NEW faces. From
out of the sand dunes they’d been roused—a whole new batch of night
crawlers. Strutting their stuff and shaking their junk, they set the
house on fire. Mess it up and make it hot—that’s the recipe—and
as last summer’s opening of CLICK has proven, South Beach loves a
summer blockbuster. Put a HOT MESS on your summer
Thursdays—and get ready to sizzle.
