With
skillful aplomb, Josh Wood Airlines brought
its 747 groove jet in for a picture-perfect
smooth landing at Simyone Lounge (formerly
Lotus) in the Meatpacking District—and the
sexy Sunday night bash tore up the place on
its opening night. That’s right: the
floorboards literally came unglued as
birthday boy DJ/producer Hector Fonseca
threw down a rambunctiously infectious set
while lissome opener Miami-native DJ Theresa
provided live percussion on her bongos.
Fresh from her galvanizing appearance at
Pink Elephant the night before, Theresa got
the party started with her sexy beats—the
babe’s a triple hitter—before handing over
the tables to Fonseca, who kept a roomful of
sinfully sexy boyz stomping on those
floorboards with his mash-ups of Pink,
Britney, and Gaga (whose “Bad Romance”
became a sing-along for everyone on the
packed flight). Seen cruising through the
night were DJ/singer Reed McGowan, DJ Billy
Lace, Alex B. with his hottie posse,
including superhero “Ricky” Perez, and Star
Alvin Ailey, and Chris Vaughan, M.D., who
gauged everyone’s mental health—as well as
Mother Juan Aviance and Michael D’arinzio
and Sky Host Marco Ovando and Jake Resnicow
and Saint-at-Large pilot, Steve Pevner—and
bad boy Andres Monteil, with his best bud
4eva, Francisco, both from Miami—and no less
than half a dozen of New York’s sickest,
most ridiculously gorgeous bartenders,
working the aisles with their drink carts.
SL makes for a smooth, early Sunday evening
flight—perfect for the boyz who catch a
connecting flight to Greenhouse and Hiro—and
Josh Woods Airlines should have no trouble
filling its seats as the boyz unbuckle their
seat belts for a glam ride through the
Sunday night galaxy. |
