As that Michael M.
song “Dear Diary” has it, “Last night I went to the club, had a
cocktail, did a bump”—and next thing we knew, we were through the
looking glass and down the rabbit hole.
“It’s dark,” said a New York friend, CLICKing for the first time. “I
LIKE IT.” Dark in a glossy black patent leather way, all shiny
reflective surface. We were acclimating, waiting and watching—and
right then, Omar threw the switch and the lights went down
again—just as everything else amped up. The energy soared.
We were deep in that rabbit hole with that lovable cast of Looking
Glass characters: Michael Mad Hatter Stanley at the door, with
Dustin Reffca as his White Rabbit, and Adora as the Red Queen, and
deejay Roxx (in support of his buds DJ's Maximus 3000, Jorge Ojeda
and Mike Mucci on the decks), with Chyna Girl as Alice giving
flawless face—and cameos by wunderkind lighting wiz Ross Berger, and
Mister Missy Michael Adorable Superman, and photog Dale Stine, and
Andrei Stylin’—and scores of other Wonderland habitués—all toasting
to the Mad Tea Party ringleader, that Knave of Hearts, beautiful
birthday boy Omar G. The tea-party tarted celebutantes had their way
with him, hoisting him onto their shoulders and up onto the stage,
where he was serenaded by shots of Jager and a sparkler parade—and
Prince on vocals, intoning, “Dearly beloved, we are gathered
here”—to CELEBRATE! Omar’s b’day! Sunday night at CLICK! It was the
kick-off to the Winter Music Conference—the week where music (and
the party!) is all that matters. Quick, quick—don’t be late; find
the key to CLICK and get thee down the rabbit hole for more Winter
Music Conference next week.
