Proving yet again that South Beach ain’t just pretty faces, hot bodies, gorgeous smiles, boobs, and clothes, the sandbar turned it out at Halo Lounge on Saturday night for a benefit for Compass, South Florida’s largest gay and lesbian community center.  Located in West Palm Beach, Compass Community Center stands as a testament to the resilience of the LGBT community in a state not always supportive of our diverse community.

With DJ Oren Nizri on the boards, and raffles of Kiehl’s products and signed first editions and vintage movie posters, Halo Lounge was a gaggle of the connected, all bathed in roseate lighting while swilling for a good cause.  Posing for photos and hugging the boyz was Miami Beach’s mayoral candidate, Mattie Bower (the Beach’s first Hispanic woman city commissioner)—as well as local gadabouts such as Edison Farrow, Gerald and Trish Posner, Doug and Josh, and Dale Stine.

While outside beneath a sliver of moon, a whole other herd of South Beach lovelies waited to pass through the velvet ropes.  Looks like the start of a brand new season!
